3/18: Explore the basic anatomy/structure of the foot. Understand the constructing lines and nuances of each view. Explore how the foot interacts with basic surface planes, and how different poses inform the movement of muscles and tissue.
3/22: Not having access to different size sheets of paper(newsprint) is limiting my ability to play around with scale. In addition, it’s frustrating to not have a scanner handy as photos taken in my room seriously detract from the quality of the drawings.

3/24: Draw a foot within a shoe of choice. Understand both the material and form of the shoe, as well as how the foot affects its shape. What new characteristics are introduced by the shoe’s presence?
I noticed more than anything else while drawing the use of leading lines in the shoe for aesthetic purposes. Each “form” within the overall shoe meshes smoothly with the next through the use of ‘negotiating’ curvature or ‘contradictory’ perpendicular junctions. Overall, the shoe appears slightly chunky in appearance partially due to the thicker materials used. I believe this reveals more so insight into the retro-aesthetic feel of New Balance sneakers as a fashion brand than the function/feet interactions.
